The Ziggurat Model
: Coming Soon...

This month ASI welcomed Ruth Aspy, Ph.D., and Barry Grossman, Ph.D., co-creators of The Ziggurat Model, a comprehensive planning system for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Their revolutionary techniques provide a comprehensive, person-centered approach that appealed to Executive Director Veronica Federiconi, who was introduced to Ziggurat three years ago at an autism conference.

“We are excited to bring Ruth and Barry here in person to provide training in the Ziggurat Model directly to our staff,” said Veronica.

Drs. Aspy and Grossman are licensed psychologists who specialize in assessment and intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. They provided training to Education Program Teachers and staff from departments including Positive Behavior Support, Speech, and OT. The team returns from their home base in Dallas, Texas in June to provide additional training to Day and Residential Program staff.

While here, Aspy and Grossman were treated to a tour of the Bryant and Stratton site, where they admired the facilities, the artwork on view, and enjoyed a lunchtime performance by No Words Spoken. “Outstanding” was just one of many accolades they bestowed on ASI staff and programming. Quite a compliment from the acclaimed pair who travel internationally to spread the word about Ziggurat.

And this is just the beginning! Stay tuned for more information about Ziggurat and what it means to our agency in the coming months.
