“Autism and Environmental Vulnerability: Whole Body, Whole Planet.”

On Saturday, April 17, 2010, Autistic Services, Inc. in conjunction with the Autism Society Western New York Chapter and the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Western New York, are pleased to present “Autism and Environmental Vulnerability: Whole Body, Whole Planet.” 

This half-day workshop features speaker Dr. Martha Herbert, M.D., Ph.D., an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, a Pediatric Neurologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and an affiliate of the Harvard-MIT-MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging.  Dr. Herbert will discuss the increase in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) over the past 15 years, including some possible reasons for the increases, why some people may be more vulnerable than others, how the brains and bodies of children and adults on the autism spectrum are affected, and what we can do to build resiliency and restore health.

Autistic Services will take a walk down Sesame Street on June 18th, 2010

For the past seven years Autistic Services, Inc. has took to the stage at Depew High School, and 2010 will be no different. Our adaptations of classics such as Lion King, A Christmas Story, Wizard of Oz and 2009's Marry Poppins have entertained audiences for years. Our next stage adaptation will be Sesame Street, and is set to hit Depew High School on June 18th, 2010. Check back for more details.
