Lending Resource Library Opens
ASI's Lending Resource Library opened to the public in April, 2007. The Lending Resource Library is a place for the WNY Community to turn for information about Autism Spectrum Disorders. The demands for raising a child with autism oftentimes are great. Utilizing sensory items and occupational therapy tools can help the individual with autism learn to accept and tolerate the various sensory input one encounters throughout the day.

Our library maintains an inventory of the most popular and effective tools that families and professionals can borrow to try out with children before they purchase an item on their own. We also maintain a selection of books, professional journals, newsletters, videotapes, DVDs and music related to autism spectrum disorders. We stay informed on the latest materials available and strive to keep the library current.

Library hours are Tuesday and Thursday 3:00-4:30 pm or by appointment. We will have hours on Saturdays beginning in September - Check back for details.

Laughter is the Best Medicine!
Did you know that laughter is our body’s natural way of relieving stress?
It also fills your lungs and body with oxygen, could drop your blood pressure and will definitely lift your spirits, which improves your immune system.

Combine that with the gentle breathing and stretching principles of yoga and you have; Laughter Yoga!

Laughter Yoga combines simulated laughter and the intention of yoga that, when done in a group becomes genuine, side splitting laughter! To find out more about Laughter Yoga or to schedule a session contact Shaun Doyle at 631-5777 x363 or Rosie Pagana at 631-5777 x 371.
